In the next 7 – 10 days, Oswego Yacht Club and the Alliance will be sending out invitations to register for Hospice Regattas Championship 2017, being hosted by OYC on August 17-20.
This year’s championship will be sailed in a fleet of J24 class keelboats, thanks to members of J24 District 7 who have graciously donated the use of their boats for the event. The regatta will be conducted Friday, Saturday and Sunday with boats and sails being drawn before each day’s racing. The winner will be the low-point scorer over the three days.
Invitations will include links to the Notice of Race.
A number of OYC members will be making their homes available for visiting Hospice Regattas Championship teams. In addition, a block of 20 rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Oswego, with a 25% discount off the regular retail rate for Championship competitors.
Beyond the racing, there will be a full social calendar, including a Saturday dinner and silent auction.
OYC will handle Championship registration through Yacht Scoring, with a link provided in the e-mail invitation. (There will also be a link to the NOR.)
If your local hospice regatta designated you to receive an invitation, please check with your crew and consider your August schedule now, so you can respond promptly. The first 13 paid entries will be accepted, whether a skipper is the local regatta’s Primary Representative or Hospice Impact representative.
If any Primary Rep is not able to attend, OYC and the Alliance will forward the invitation to the Alternate Representative named by that regatta. May 1 will be the registration deadline.
