Phil Lotz is representing the Home & Hospice Care of Rhode
Island. He and his primarily family crew were honored to win the
Captain Benjamin Sammis Memorial Trophy last summer in Newport,
RI. Joining Phil will be his wife Wendy and sons Chris and Doug.
Friend, Ben Cesare will be rounding out the family crew. The Lotz
family currently campaign their J-105, Indefatigable, racing in
the Narragansett Bay area and Western Long Island Sound. They have
traveled to San Francisco and Buzzard's Bay for the J-105 North
Americans.
Both lifetime sailors, Phil & Wendy have sailed in classes
including Vanguard 15, Lightning, J-30, J-35, J-24, and cruising
classes competing in many National and International events. They
also currently sail Shields in Newport and an occasional day out
in the cold on IC's in Larchmont, NY.
They participate in various team race regattas with New York Yacht
Club from San Francisco to Ireland and England. Their teenage sons
and daughter Megan, all sailors from a young age, frequently round
out the crew for many events. They all have sailed optimists and
420's, as well. The Lotz family and Ben are looking forward to sailing
in the Chesapeake Bay, representing Rhode Island in the Hospice
Regatta. We thank the organizing committee for all their efforts
making this worthwhile event possible.
