New hospice house opened! The Hampton YC Hospice One-Design Regatta began three years ago to help support constructing the new Dozoretz Hospice House of Hampton Roads (HHHR), providing the first free-standing non-profit hospice facility for the area’s over 1.8 million residents.
Construction completed this year, the first patients have been admitted. And the rega8a continued its support with the May 16-18 rega8a which expanded this year to include a second race area managed by Broad Bay Sailing Association.
The regatta was created and is managed by Hampton Yacht Club, while the hospice house has played an active role, especially using it to raise funds and awareness of hospice care in the Hampton Roads area.
